Collected in Hunting Creek, City of Alexandria, in 1888 and 1915. Although FNA doesn't show Virginia in the range of the species, the Virginia specimens, along with specimens from nearby in D.C. andd Maryland, were confirmed through annotations by R. R. Haynes in 2000.
Habitat
Tidal freshwater aquatic beds. Rare, n. Coastal Plain; known historically from Hunting Creek, a tidal tributary of the Potomac River in Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria. Not collected since 1915.
