Known historically only; Fernald & Long collections (1938) are from both sides of the Sussex/Greensville county line north of Emporia; probably extirpated due to fire suppression and land-use changes.
Habitat
Dry, open, sandy pine and oak thickets and clearings. Rare, s. Coastal Plain; known historically from one site in each of Greensville and Sussex counties, where last collected in 1938.
