- One of our few introduced Carex species, and also one of the few occurring in saline habitats.
- Habitat
- Mesohaline to polyhaline tidal marshes (especially the large maritime salt marshes), and disturbed saline flats and shores. Infrequent in the outer Coastal Plain maritime zone.
