- A Rappahannock County population, although well established in an appropriate habitat, may represent escapes from cultivation and is therefore mapped with "uncertain" provenance.
- Habitat
- Calcareous fens and spring marshes, mafic fens and seeps, wet meadows, clearings, and open alluvial habitats; most numerous in fertile soils over limestone and other calcareous sedimentary rocks. Locally common in valley wetlands of the Ridge and Valley region; infrequent elsewhere in the mountains and inner Piedmont; rare in the outer Piedmont and inner Coastal Plain.
