- Collected in 1943 by P.M. Patterson and A.J. Sharp from vicinity of Cascades along Little Stony Creek. Rediscovered in 2024 at the same location. Of the 5 specimens collected at this site by Patterson in 1943, one was labeled as filiforme var. concinnatum (=A. concinnatum), a northern species known only as far south of New York. Since A. julaceum was recently corroborated by additional specimens from this site, the report of A.concinnatum seems in error.
- Habitat
- The 1943 collections described the microhabitat as "crevices in shale cliff" or "wet crevices of ledge under falls". The 2024 collection was from a wet, shaly rock outcrop near the falls but not in the spray zone.
