- State record discovered in 2023 by Jennifer Stanley. Two shrubs growing alongside several other rare plants, including the newly rediscovered Lachnanthes caroliniana. The species is a Coastal Plain endemic, formerly known only as far north as Beaufort and Pitt counties, North Carolina.
