Comments
Native of Eurasia and Africa, discovered in Virginia by Jennifer Stanley in 2025. In the eastern U.S., this plant is otherwise known only from "waste and ballast at Camden, NJ and Philadelphia, PA in the 1800s" (Flora of the Southeastern U.S.). It is more widespread as a weed of wet habitats in the Pacific Northwest.
Habitat
Wet swale in mowed area along the Tobacco Heritage Trail, a converted trailbed in Lunenburg County. Status in Virginia uncertain, quite possibly a waif.
